Railway station Clairvaux les Lacs, France
6 peep boxes with optical lenses, computer-generated architectural images, loudspeakers
in co-operation with Bernhard Többen, architect
Six boxes were set into the bricked-up windows of the disused train station in Clairvaux les Lacs. By looking through small peep-hole lenses the observer gains a view of the secretive inner workings of the train station – the disused tracks growing within the building become entangled, forming their own peculiar architectural structures.
Those who listen carefully can occasionally hear the scraping, metallic sounds of train tracks grating against one another.
